History of Joo Hwa Food since 1970s

From a humble beginning to a famous Online Steamboat Ingredients delivery in Singapore.

Joo Hwa started out in 1970s on the streets of Chinatown by a few brothers and sisters selling fresh Yong Tau Foo, prawn roll and fishballs. During the early days, all the products are freshly handmade over at the stall, as there is no refrigerators over at the streets. During that time, business was overwhelming and queue started to form before opening hours. 

Since moving to Ang Mo Kio industrial Park 3 in the 80s, Joo Hwa Food started mass production of Ngoh Hiang, Prawn Roll, Yong Tau Foo, Fish balls and fish cakes. That is how we started our food service segment supplying our products to wet markets and coffeeshops.

The founders of Joo Hwa strictly emphasise on products’ Quality and Freshness till today. To keep up with international standards, Joo Hwa Food Industries implemented several stringent quality control and attained ISO22000 certification in year 2017.

We are used to serving customers from all walks of life for the past 40 years, experience is still the key that takes us from daily dealings with uncles and aunties to serving big corporate companies and hotel chains. A professional call-center has been setup since year 2008. We strived to provide 5-Star service to each of our customer.

In year 2008, the 2nd generation took over the running of Joo Hwa Food. New technologies were introduced to the manufacturing process to improve the quality and consistencies of products, strict hygiene policies were further enhanced.

Moving on to the next phase of expansion, Joo Hwa Food invested more time on branding, consumer experience, to make the 40 year-old heritage brand appeal to the younger generations.
